In this show I explore the Color Balance tool to get the right mood into an image shot just after sunrise. These sliders push the colors around in the RGB color space. But how to push?

Then I compare the Curves and Levels tool and give both o them a shot at the image. Both results are fine on some parts of the image – just combine the two parts with a layer mask. An finally cloning out a disturbing sign at the edge of the canal.

After the recording I decided to do a crop of the image. You can see it on 23 and on flickr.

  1. Hi Rolf,
Maybe it’s only me but the companion file associated with this week’s video comes up empty. If I try to open it in a new window (usually works), I get a 404 error. If I “Save Link As…”, I get an empty file message when I try to extract the downloaded file. I guess there just isn’t a companion file.

Great videos. I really enjoy them all.

  2. Hi Rolf

I just noticed that there seems to be a change in the location of the RSS feed for MTG. My dynamic bookmark, which I set to http://meetthegimp.org/feed/ eons ago, gives me episode 171 as the latest edition. However, on the MTG web site the RSS feed location is http://feeds2.feedburner.com/meetthegimp, And If I use this URL, I actually get episode 172.
Actually, this may be nothing to worry about, but if you really have switched the RSS feed location, an indication on the old location may reconnect a lot of old listeners.

Please keep up the good work

    Stefan Peter
